The Centre Longwell Green has many rooms available for hire at very competitive rates.

Whether you need a small private meeting room for 20 people or a party room with space for 150 guests and DJ or live band, you’ll find affordable rooms some with a private bar to meet your needs.

We also have 2 floodlit Netball court available to hire.

Phipps Hall (Main hall)

  • Maximum capacity 140 people dependant on layout/use
  • Dimensions 20m x 10m (approx.)
  • For hire weekdays after 4pm and Saturdays/ Sundays 

This is a large bright room that can be used for many purposes.

Phipps Hall has a sprung wooden floor ideal for dancing and exercise classes (including indoor Badminton), as well as craft fairs and shows. There is a large stage with drapes and lighting. 

Parties

Ideal for children’s activity parties with space for a Bouncy Castle, no party tables set up only chairs. 

Theatre and Concerts

When used for concerts, eisteddfods, etc. the bow fronted stage comes into it’s own. The curtain area and opening is 16′ x 9′ high and approx. 18′ deep to the rear backdrop.

Benefiting from coloured spotlights behind the curtain and in front of the stage, sound is also available. The sound and lighting is controlled by console accessible from the gantry.

California Suite

  • Maximum capacity 150 people (dependant on layout & use)

Neale's Lounge & Bar

  • Available for hire weekdays before 4pm and occasional weekday evenings)
  • Capacity 80-100 max (Dependant on use & layout of room)
  • Not available weekdays after 4pm and weekends as open as public bar.

The room offers comfortable seating areas, stage and private bar. It is a versatile room suitable for meetings, groups, exercise classes.

The Green Cafe

  • Normal capacity 24 people, more theatre style
  • Available for hire weekdays

This is the smallest room we have on offer for hire. A quiet and relaxing room. Suitable for small group meetings. Normally seats 24 but can be used for more if set out “theatre Style”. e.g. for an A.G.M.

Orton Bar

  • Maximum capacity 80 people (Dependant on use & layout)

The Orton Room has it’s own private bar and entrance. Ideal for small parties, christenings, baby showers, wakes. Exercise classes, group meetings etc.

Bookings Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions of party booked:

A nominated adult is required to be responsible for each event/party.

Children under the age of 14 must be under parental supervision.

No one under the age of 18 is permitted to consume alcoholic drinks on or around the premises.

Only drinks purchased on the premises may be consumed on the premises, anyone bringing in alcohol will have it confiscated and returned to them at close.

Any rooms hired without the bar facility must have permission from the Centre Manager to bring in refreshments.

The community centre does not tolerate the use or selling of drugs. If seen the Police will be informed.

No candles etc can be used due to fire regulations (exceptions of cakes).

21st birthday party bookings may be permitted by management discretion and must be at least 50% family on the guest list.

No table confetti, confetti balloons or party poppers allowed. Only Blue Tac to be used to put up decorations.

All rubbish must be taken away and rooms are to be cleared after the party and left as found on arrival.

Decorations, equipment, light up numbers or signs etc cannot be left for collection the next day unless discussed and permission given from The Centre Manager before the party date.

Bouncy Castles are permitted in some rooms but the Centre must be informed when booking the room, no adults are permitted on the castle due to the ceiling height and a copy of the companies’ liability insurance is required before the party can go ahead.

Any event supplies to be booked by the hirer must be authorised by the centre manager prior to booking as they may not be permitted.

No alterations are to be made to a party/event booking prior to ‘The Centre’ giving permission for the amendments.

Please do not arrive any earlier than the time you have booked the room from. You will not be able to gain access. This includes the entertainment/DJ booked.

Evening Parties – Last orders will be at 11.30pm, bar will close at 11.45pm and all music/entertainment off by 11.45m. Room to be vacated by 12.30am.   

50% of the balance will be charged if cancelling within 2 weeks of booking.

The £40.00 deposit paid when booking a room is non-refundable.

The remaining balance is due two weeks before the event, if this is not paid on time and the centre has not been informed, we have the right to cancel the party.

All parties (event dependant) require a CASH holding deposit when the remaining balance is paid. This will be available for collection from Wednesday of the week after the party as long as all T&Cs are followed, any damages will be charged accordingly.

No Under 18’s parties permitted.

Any facility bookings refunds permitted within our T&C will be subject to an admin fee of £5 minimum.

Well behaved/clean dogs are permitted in the Orton and Neale’s Lounge & bar only, they must be kept under control on a lead and beside owner at all times, they are not allowed on the furniture, guide dogs are permitted in all rooms.
